26th March 8.30pm - 9.30pm is Earth Hour
Started in 2007 by WWF and partners as a symbolic lights-out event in Sydney to raise awareness of climate change, Earth Hour is now one of the world's largest grassroots movements for the environment. Held every year on the last Saturday of March, Earth Hour engages supporters in more than 190 countries and territories, all taking action to ensure a brighter future for people and planet.
No matter where you are in the world, you can join with Earth Hour - just turn your lights out, and spend some quality time with friends and family - here are some suggestions for how to spend the hour
A Local Celebration of Earth Hour
St Nicholas Church in Little Bowden will be hosting an evening of word and song inviting people to join together in this movement for our own futures, for the benefit of people and planet. The event will run from 8.30pm - 9.30pm. Dress warmly, bring a torch, lantern or wind up lamp and also a song or a piece of poetry you would like to share.
