New Local Community Groups

Harborough Town Hub was established in 2022 with the aim of creating an independent, nonparty political, community-led organization that nurtures a synergy-building, self-help, long-term network that enables positive action between all community groups, charities, schools, businesses and government agencies including all who live and work in Market Harborough.

In many towns, such a role would be undertaken by Town Council, which would act in a similar way to Parish Councils. For various historic reasons, Market Harborough does not have such a body. To rectify this gap, Harborough Town Hub aims to facilitate the creation of 5 statutory Neighbourhood Forums under the Localism Act 2011.

They plan to create 5 Neighbourhood Forums, corresponding to local council wards. Forums are already being set up in Great Bowden, Logan and Welland Wards, with others to follow soon. To get involved or find out more, please contact the secretary Simon Hobbs : simon.hobbs@harborough.gov.uk
